Asian Junior & Girls Chess Championship 2026 in Mumbai, India

India Hosts Asia's Future Chess Stars

The championship will welcome players from Asian Chess Federation member countries, with each federation allowed to send:

  • One official player in each category

  • Any number of additional players

  • Personal rights players (2025 medalists and U18 Asian Champions) also receive direct entry if age eligible.

For Indian players, this is a fantastic opportunity to compete against the strongest junior players in Asia without international travel, making this year's edition especially significant.

Who Can Participate?

According to the official invitation:

  • Players must be Under-20 (born on or after 1 January 2006).

  • Every Asian federation may nominate official players.

  • Additional players are also permitted.

  • If fewer than 10 players from at least five federations register in a category, categories may be merged.

For Indian Players

Generally, players ranked between 1 and 50 nationally are considered eligible to participate. However, eligibility may vary depending on federation regulations and available slots.
