Shivay Singh

Shivay Singh, an eight-year-old chess talent from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is already turning heads in the chess circuit. Demonstrating poise and precision beyond his age, Shivay earned his first major triumph by winning the Royal Jaipur Under-1800 Classical FIDE Rating Tournament 2025. He finished the nine-round event undefeated with 8/9 points, edging out rivals on tiebreaks to claim the title.

This remarkable performance comes on the heels of his victory as the Uttar Pradesh State Under-9 Open Champion 2025, marking a rapidly ascending trajectory in his chess career.

Held from May 30 to June 1, 2025 in Jaipur, the Royal Jaipur tournament featured stiff competition from across India. Shivay's consistency stood out among 363 participants—including players from Sri Lanka and the USA—earning him a well-deserved win after a dominant showing.

Beyond the numbers, what sets Shivay apart is his unwavering focus and calm under pressure—qualities rare in players his age. Drawing against seasoned competitors in the final rounds, he demonstrated a maturity that suggests even greater promise ahead.
